Villa Rules
The villa is located within a residential community which adheres to quiet hours that are observed between 10pm-7am daily (11pm on weekends). Parties/events are not permitted. If you’re hosting a small dinner or gathering, please do so outside of quiet hours.
Please be mindful of leaving items outside of the house at all times. While we have security measures in place, such as cameras, electric fence and a response team, it’s best to avoid encouraging unwanted visitors. Safes are provided in each bedroom for any valuables as well.
The copying of keys or sharing of your access codes are prohibited.
You’re welcome to use any of the household items such as the DVD player, yoga mats, collapsible chairs, fitness equipment, but should they become damaged, you may be liable for its replacement. You can view a full list of items here. Please do not take bath towels or sheets off property as there are beach towels and blankets for this purpose. We do have beach-specific plateware/utensils for picnics as well.
There is no smoking (of any items including vapes, e-cigarettes or other inhalant devices irrespective of producing smoke or flavored air) inside, within doorways or out of windows. Smoking or the use of any inhalants are only permitted in outdoor areas and ashtrays are provided. Candles are also not allowed inside. An additional cleaning fee will be imposed should this not be followed.
The bottled items (Wine, Beer, mixers, etc.) in the bar fridge are available for purchase using the Honesty Bar which can be found here. Replenishment of exact or similar items is not permitted as we do phase out certain items from time to time.
Please insure all food, whether in the bedrooms or elsewhere are covered to avoid bugs. Ideally fruit is kept in the refrigerator to avoid fruit flies.
When the AC is on, please keep your door/windows closed (including the bathroom window). Please turn off lights/AC when not in the room. If off-property for an extended period of time, the butler may turn off the AC/lights.
Please be cognizant of your water usage as a few years ago Cape Town almost ran out of water. Please do not flush anything other than house-provided toilet paper down the drain; flushable wipes and feminine products can be placed in the small paper bags in each bathroom and disposed of in the trash. Additionally, we have dark face towels that should be used for make-up removal to avoid staining the white towels.
Should you break anything, you will be charged for replacement or repair of the item.
The butler is on property to assist with any dish washing. Food should be scraped off the dishes before putting in the dishwasher or recycling bin to avoid bugs and allow for a proper dishwasher clean. It’s best that all dishwasher be done in the dishwasher to ensure a proper clean versus hand-washing. Silverware is placed on the top drawer, plasticware and cups/glasses on the upper rack and plateware on the bottom rack. The dishwasher is usually run on a daily basis on the 60-minute cycle (60°C).
A washer and dryer with are available for your use (including detergent). The butler is available to handle personal laundry, however for undergarments, these will need to be placed in a mesh bag and will be washed/dried and returned within the bag. There is a drying string in each shower for small items such as bathing suits and a portable folding drying rack in the laundry closet as well as racks on the side of the house. We also have an iron (one for clothes & one for crafts) as well as a steamer for your use.
You’re welcome to use the pool at any hour, but please note there is no lifeguard on duty. You can find towels in the outside cabinet or towel rack. Please do not take glass into or immediately around the pool (to prevent breakage which requires the pool to be drained, cleaned and refilled at a cost).
